Summer Hiatus

From the last portion of the most recent podcast.

Well, I have an announcement. We will be on summer hiatus for the next five weeks. I have so much going on and was stressing over it, so I knew I needed a break. My wife’s job has been discontinued and she has until the end of August to find new employment. I am trying to help her begin a home business. She makes custom, hand-crafted jewelry. I am trying to find some good people to lend their financial support to our work at Communitas. I have the ongoing issue of caring for my disabled brother and elder parents 550 miles away. And we have a trip back to Missouri and another short get-a-way planned. And a lot of things do to do around the old house. It will be a full and busy 5 weeks!

That being said, I am more excited than ever about the potential of Commuitas Collective. I love what we do and who it enables us to meet, but I also think we are just scratching the surface. I have some very cool guests in mind for future programs and I am fascinated with the idea of facilitating unconditional love and communities of unconditionality.

My dream for the church looks like friends enjoying a meal together, laughing with one another, learning from one another, taking huge risks as they love one another, putting feet to their good intentions while passing on a little of the love to people who are not at the table. There are no entrance requirements for being a part of this feast and you don’t have to believe or behave like the other people to be invited. This table is a place of grace, acceptable, forgiveness, diversity, and creativity that is real and gritty, just like life.

It is a dream that cannot be confined to institutions, programs, or structures. All that is required is to invite people to the table. More than ever today people are looking for a different way to express their faith and to be the church, one rooted in reality and relationships.

We are plotting a conspiracy of love by inviting people to the table for conversation and community. We don’t get hung up on creeds, institutions, or trying to define or control the conversation. We focus on life and on the stories of people who help us learn how to love and how to live. The conversation will be even better if you join in!

We are trying to love God and love people in ways that are real, meaningful, and probably a little unconventional.

Thank you so much for joining us in this adventure.

We’ll be in touch and the podcast will resume in about 5 weeks.

About Glenn

I love people who feel like outsiders because I believe they are the key to moving forward. Outsiders are often just visionaries under pressure who are on their way to becoming entrepreneurs. So, I encourage them, invite them into community and conversation, get them in touch with insightful people and one another, and walk beside them as they move from complaining to dreaming to changing the world. That takes the form of podcasting, writing, networking, and consulting. The rest of time, I like to ride my bike along the shores of Lake Michigan, wail on my guitar, get together with the kids and grandkids, go to outdoor festivals, travel, eat, and read.
