Recycle Your Faith

I met Craig Spinks through Off The Map a few years ago. Craig is a professional video producer. He recently launched the video blog Recycle Your Faith – here’s how he describes it on his about page

Short and compelling videos are posted every Monday at Recycle Your Faith. Each video encourages spiritual exploration through candid interviews, thought-provoking topics, and stories of people attempting to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Various perspectives are presented and topics are left unresolved. It is our hope that these videos challenge you to question your faith and perhaps recycle it into something more closely resembling your personal experience with Jesus.

This question and answer from RYF’s FAQ page illustrates the underlying philosophy of RYF

Do you have a statement of faith?
Hell, no! If we were to have one it would go something like this: “Recycle Your Faith believes in a big god who can handle our big questions in faith.”

The video currently in the sidebar, Church Alumni, is from Recycle Your Faith. (You can also find it here)

Craig and his wife Sara recently moved to Denver and joined Kathy Escobar’s faith community, The Refuge (although they just began an eight month road trip, so they aren’t in Denver right now). Here’s an RYF video Craig made about The Refuge and its people

About Helen

Helen Mildenhall (site developer, webmaster, and regular contributor) is like and unlike the rest of the team. She shares their interest in community and has similar past church experiences to many of them. However she is not currently living a faith-based life and that makes her an outsider. She’s trusting Glenn that it’s helpful to have an outsider voice here. Helen lives in Illinois with her husband and two teenage children and is webmaster for Off The Map. She enjoys music, photography and people (most of the time). You can find her personal blog at Love is the most excellent way.
